As an avid teacher, I am constantly identifying student training needs for the SAT exam, evaluating effectiveness of resources, and developing strategies and tools for the students. I believe that having a good book is the first step toward success! This is an excellent and ready-to-use tool for students to use as a workbook to self study, or for teachers to run a SAT math class review.

The unique strengths of this book:

1. During math review, no student wants to be overloaded with too much text reading. Rather, he or she wants to learn how to solve problems as quickly as possible, with clear directions. Therefore, I base my book on Teaching through Examples, which is a quick and clear way of learning

2. Instead of focusing too much on strategies that teach guessing and eliminating, yet lightly touch upon the problem-solving skills, I focus on teaching the important and foundational math skills that give students confidence in solving problems and answering correctly

3. "Practice makes perfect," is crucial to math review, hence the well thought-out structure and exhaustive practices and solutions in every chapter. The best strategies to solve problems are also taught and demonstrated in the lessons and practice solutions.

This is a complete, in-depth, yet concise math review book for the SAT exam. It is structurally outlined in accordance with the standards of SAT math. The book divides step-by-step reviews into four main sections: Basic Math, Algebra, Geometry and Data and Tables.

The new format in SAT Math places a much greater emphasis on problem solving and the ability to find solutions through logical reasoning. This is the purpose of this book, to help students build a solid understanding in high school math, and strengthen their problem solving skill. The book teaches students clearly how to solve problems through many examples, followed by relevant practice, and then solutions with clear explanations for each question to further strengthen students' understanding. Learning and reviewing becomes fast and easy, while strength and confidences are built up via comprehensive drills. With each chapter, a new skill is learned that will help solve typical SAT questions. The practice tests prepare students for the format and style of the exam. It is an excellent workbook that every student can use for self-preparation for the SAT, or an indispensable tool for teachers to help with class reviews.

Teaching through examples is the most distinctive strength of this book. Very little text reading is required, as the relevant examples work as the fundamental teaching tool. The practice drills make the learning internalized and complete.
