BLOOD RAIN IN THE DARK SIDE OF PARADISE is a historical drama filled with action and adventure, permeated by a romantic plot where fictional characters mingle to actual figures. A fascinating (though tragic) love story that unfolds during the Dutch invasion to the Northeast Brazilian coast. The scenario is the captaincy of Rio Grande do Norte. The action starts in 1633 (when the Dutch arrive in the small village of Natal to found the "New Amsterdam") and ends in 1645 (with the massacres of Catholic Christians in two communities, Cunhaú and Uruaçu). Is the story two young, Bernarda and Rafael, driven by a passion rapturous, a feeling strong enough to face this period of bloody disputes among Dutch Protestants, Catholics and Portuguese wild Indians. A period where intolerance, violence and barbarism spoke louder. In the midst of war, the figure of Jacob Rabbi, a German Jew who comes to the Rio Grande to help the Dutch in the negotiations with the Indians. He marries a boss's daughter Janduís and becomes one of the leaders of the tribe. The fate of Bernarda and Rafael will cross with other targets tens of people trying to survive on this earth the sun bathed in blood. Finally, everything culminates with the massacres that occurred in Cunhaú and Uruaçu, two rural communities of the captaincy of Rio Grande do Norte.
